Make no mistake about it this is invaluable if you have the time to consider all of what Bernd is teaching, which is way beyond using the software itself, as you could imagine if you were to learn on the job with a professional the things you would see them do, and ask why, they are all answered here. The instructions do not skip over the thought process you yourself would have to go through, and Resolve is the tool of choice here, so you get to see first-hand how you can solve common issues from start to finish like a pro using the tool you came here to learn. Bernd seems very personable and highly motivated to teach step by step every detail you need to be able to “think” like a professional. I can’t recommend this course highly enough. I highly recommend this course and especially its instructor, Bernd Klimm. I haven’t quite finished this course yet and I’ve already used some of the techniques learned here on other projects. Although this is a Fusion tutorial, he provides some great tips on editing and color grading to boot. If you run across a problem or have a question that hasn’t been touched upon, Bernd is available to help you find an answer. There is so much information provided that I find myself continually rewinding a video or referring to previous lessons to find a step that I may have overlooked or didn’t fully understand initially, however, the course is so well laid out it is a breeze to navigate through previous lessons and find what you need. Every step is clearly explained but there is no tedious repetition. The 30 lessons in the course are packed with tips and shortcuts that I could never have discovered on my own.Įach lesson builds on what was learned in previous lessons. I can’t think of enough superlatives to describe Bernd’s Beginner’s Course on Fusion. If you want to spend 60 or so quality minutes learning this tool, I’d highly recommend VFXStudy. I find those qualities to be abundant in Bernd.
It is a very hard tool to navigate and become an expert in unless you have an instructor that is knowledgeable, detail oriented and thorough. The free course gives so much information, but it is still probably only 20-30% of what one can achieve in this tool. There are so many hidden features that take an average video and make it stand out in the crowd.
Let’s be honest, Resolve is a very complex and amazing software. After going through all of the free course that Bernd has on this website, I was able to make far more advanced videos from my memory because I actually UNDERSTOOD what I was doing and how the software worked. I used to copy steps as I watched videos on YouTube, but could never retain and remember what I was doing. As wonderful as their content is, I didn’t understand the concepts as well as I do now, thanks to the detailed, clear, humble, precise (and friendly) instruction of Bernd. I have watched and learned from numerous, excellent, Fusion/Resolve teachers on YouTube.
